Mindstate 02:47
So welcome to the mind of the beckon mc, Now please enjoy your stay, spend your time wisely, You'll have to pay attention cause there's much for you to hear, and when you step into my world just let your ego disappear, Cause this is not a place to boast fame, with false claims, complain, lay blame or ever try to run game, just let me re-explain, this is my world, so just enjoy yourself, cause you know that i will, This is just a taste of what I mean and what i am about, So sit back and enjoy the ride where gonna take the scenic route, just where we're going well you know I ain't decided yet, been trying to catch my breath since i been rhyming as a younger kid, It's gotta be cause i Freestyle incessantly, a pair of collapsed lungs will surely be the death of me, Trying to find that recipe to leave behind a legacy, I'll know that I've succeeded if you find me in your memory. ---- Chorus I'm so dam glad that you're finally here, because truth be told I've been waiting for years, So here's to hoping you enjoy your time, as we spend a little bit of it inside of my mind, --- So here we are back at it again, The addict of the pad and pen on his second attempt, I'm cashing in on all those hours that I’ve already spent, And all the learning curves that I’ve had to slowly unbend, Sometimes I try to write a verse from scratch, but usually it’s just my phone and a train to catch, i mean i must look mad sitting there scribbling, So engrossed in myself I’m probably dribbling, But it's alright, every carriage needs a crazy person, Least it's just inside my mind not causing a disturbance, Not yelling out or cursing, just writing peaceful verses, Assuring myself that this is how I’ll find purpose, So that's me pleased to make your acquaintance, I know it's been a while but hell I’m grateful for your patience, Whilst you busy waiting I was busy concentrating, Dreaming bout that first occasion I could show you my creation. --- Chorus ---

Entertainer 04:27
Yo I be, out the gate like a grey hound running, Taking you up on a journey on some beautiful percussion, Trying to start a tense discussion by getting your girlfriend blushing, But my oh my, what an awkward introduction, Why don’t we start that all again, I’ll just go grab my pad and pen, I’ll change it up for you my friend, I do this every now and then, When I overstep myself, issues with my mental health, Got me feeling like I need reach out just to get some help, Cause I just can’t stop with this terrible habit, See I mic I gotta have it, so I run up just to grab it, Trying to kick my illest flow, I’m getting weird looks though, I’m sure that it’s because I’m on stage at bingo, But I just be like yo, what up the name’s Beckon, I got a legs eleven and a lucky lucky seven, So what you think about, maybe you and I stepping, Up into your room so we can both unwrap this present. --- Chorus OOO EEE, that’s me, I’m an entertainer, Barking out lines like a personal trainer, From backyard parties to the Madison square, Trying to make heads nod and put some hands in the air, Said OOO EEE, that’s me, I’m an entertainer, Barking out lines like a personal trainer, From Perth City to the QLD, I’m just trying to be your next favourite MC --- I see the bartender, to help me get flexible, I see the door girl, she takes care of the decimals, I see the sound man, he takes care of the decibels, And if I see you in the crowd, well I’ma make it memorable What can I say that’s just the way that I’m wired, Anytime I’m on this stage I’m trying to leave you inspired, Feeling like I’ve been hired just to leave an impression, So what some would call obsession is what I call my profession, But don't get it twisted, I’m not saying I’m gifted I am however saying that I am very persistent, I have spent year’s straight working on my flows, Just so i could get girls twerking at my shows, But now I have friends trying to tell me that will never be, I’m like you wait, i'ma get there eventually, You can't twist fate, that's a self-fulfilling prophecy, But one things for sure, those words won't be stopping me. --- Chorus --- I be that, type of dude chasing 00 status, Selling out, playing week long shows out in Vegas, Getting free meals thinking dam I really made it, But still getting pissy if I’m not up on your playlist, Wheezing on the track like my name was John Madden, With that Middle Eastern background so call me Aladdin, Get me near that stage only one thing will happen, I’ma over complicate it like a female orgasm, Fresher than the first edition, spreading like a superstition, Better yet a new religion, well at least that is the mission, Drowning in my own ambition in this privileged position, Killing off the opposition so there is no competition, Me on a verse, man you know it’s absurd, I spend a week inside a cabin re-arranging my words, I’m trying to spit that type of hype to get you high as a bird, I learnt quality control from Mr Heizenberg. --- Chorus ---

I first met her when my parents they were out of town, See that was like the only time my brother would bring a girl around, I’d heard about this one before, always thought I’d turn her away, But now she was inside my house so what was I supposed to say, First I didn't get it man I thought she was ugly, With so many that she would say that really kinda bugged me, She was loud, obnoxious and oh so rude, Always talking this shit like she had something to prove, But then she song this song to me, called juicy, And I couldn't believe what this music could do to me, This was unlike anything that I had heard before, Cause anytime I got a taste, I was left wanting more. ------- Chorus Dear lady hip hop, I wrote this for you, Cause my heart is wrapped up in everything that you do, From this life to the next, I promise to stay true, Every time I grab the Mic for the check one two ----- Exchanged vows over drunken freestyles, Proclaiming we found a love to span miles and miles, Like I beckon MC solemnly swear, To take you by the hats, bass line and snare, Through sickness and poorness, round the world and its corners, You will always stay important as we both move forward, And I will forgive the mistakes that you make, Cause any time you do it right, well you take my breath away. --- Chorus --- Like any good relationship there’s much that I learnt, Over beers that we shared over tree’s that we burnt, Biggy gave me ten steps on how to sell crack, Matter fact, quite a few seemed to help out with that, Lupe showed me that daydreaming pays, While the hoods taught me not to judge people on the train, Nas let me know I could get by with one mic, Jurassic 5 showed me what feedback sounded like, Blessed to be schooled on a laid back flow, By a tribe called quest and solo in Horrorshow, And to Nujabes may he rest in peace, I learnt that not every track needs to have an MC. --- Chorus ---

As I Look at the face of this watch of mine, I let myself gaze back through the passage of time, To my, schooling years, my acquaintances and peers, To those still here and those that disappeared, I, think that about these forms of friendship, Bout those I held tight bout those I let slip, So as my pen drips, I’m forced to reminisce, About those old bonds that no longer exist, I, think about the family I know, A deep rooted tree that’s evolved to grow, Through sisters, nieces, aunties, mothers Uncles, nephews, husbands, brothers, I think about the love and support, That my brothers they gave me without a second thought, From I learnt to walk, to when I hit record, They were always there just to help me move forward. --- Chorus Time pulls us from every yesterday, These moments were never made to stay, So they go, But, we know, Each, new dawn, Brings another day, another day, another day --- As I look at the face of this watch of mine, I let myself think about the present moment in time, I think about where it is in life that I stand, And what it is I think that defines who i am, I think about my path to tertiary education, And all that frustration to get qualification, But that's how it is, find something you love, Then you work on it, work on it, never get enough, That was me, working on a degree, With hip hop as a hobby, drinking liters of cafeteria coffee, Thinking nobody can stop me, cause I’m on the right path, Head down working hard, putting time into my craft, So here I am now, split in a two a dichotomy, Two sides to my mind with the same philosophy, Only ever work towards what it is you want to be, And always assess my progress with some honesty. --- Chorus --- As I look at the face of this watch of mine, I let myself think about the progression of time, About how it moves on and waits for no man, No matter what you do, no matter what you stand, No matter what you've seen, no matter what you know, No matter where you've been, no matter where you go, Our lives they all move through an ebb and a flow, One day we all arrive and one day we’ll all go, So when the curtains fall in my third and final act, I just hope that I end up with my spirit intact, From all the twists and the turns that I’ll face on the track, The path’s never straight forward there’s no doubt in that, So I plan for the future, using lessons from the past, Implement them in the present for the tests that I am passed, As these moments of my life move like sands through an hourglass, I just try to cherish them to stop them moving too fast. --- Chorus --- I refuse to greet the sunset, With a heart weighed down by the pains of regret, Dwelling on each of those false laid steps, Or worse yet, the words that I should have said. --- Chorus ---

Keep On 03:25
Yo some people write songs so they don't feel regrets, Me I write em so I can receive less threats, Got one too many people telling me I’ll see some violence If I do not hurry up and end this self-imposed silence Saying having so few songs out that's pathetic, What you trying to take the piss like you were a diuretic With a flow so sweet you leave the beat a diabetic, You should spend more time on hip hop a little less on Reddit, That's right I said it, mad skills when I procrastinate, Try to schedule time with me I guarantee that I’ll be late, Just like Seth Sentry, man I just float away, And wake up day dreaming bout 50 shades of Sasha Grey, But hey, it could all be worse, Cause I could still be me without the skill to write a verse, So while you take a second, wrap your head around that, I'ma call myself Beckon rap around these high hats. --- Chorus I’m on my way, I can’t slow now, I’ma keep on going till the lights go down, I’m keep on growing living in this town, I’ma keep on flowing till I seize that crown, I’ma keep on, living as an mc, I’ma keep on, letting these thoughts run free, I’ma keep on, being the best that I can be, I’ma keep on, staying strong, just being me. --- I mean let’s face facts, anytime I let my voice lace tracks, I'ma leave that beat fresher than a spray of Ajax, Relax homie, just enjoy the show, Let me entertain you with my glorious flow, I believe that you only ever reap what you sew, So go ahead take me seed, spread it for me and help me grow, Just don't tell my girl that I gave you my seed, Cause that's the type of information that will end up bad for me, But that's just how it has to be, a hard lesson to learn, Like respect can't be bought it's something to earned, So when it’s my turn, to get these verses off my chest, I pledge to do my very best to make you proud of the west, Cause I am ready for this, my hand reads pocket aces, Delivered on the river to a sea of angry faces, Wishing they could trade places but I couldn't give a fuck, While i snatched up there chips yelling out pot luck. --- Chorus --- So while I look to the future here’s a nod to the past, Here's to ST1, deadweight and Nightclass, Empty bars, and the Colab jam band, All my friends and fam who helped me recognise my wingspan, Here's to Macshane for all that studio time, So I could lock this down without having to worry bout those dollar signs, Without you all this would never be complete, And here's to empty, for this amazing beat. --- Chorus ---
